Rethinking those satin ornaments …

I’ve never been fond of those Christmas ornaments that are made of satiny fibers.   I tried them when my son was small … primarily because they were not breakable … at least not in the way that glass ornaments would be.   But it never seemed to take long once they were out of the packaging for the fibers to get brushed against something and be torn loose and hanging on the ornament.  I also prefer the solid color glass ornaments because they act as mirrors reflecting whatever happens to be nearby.  But today may have been the start of a change in opinion regarding these ornaments.

I found myself sitting a few feet from a Christmas tree for about 15 minutes today … so naturally, I starting photograph it.   I didn’t notice the light reflected in the surface of the ornament until after I’d taken the picture.  I thought the many reflections on the surface were interesting.
