Puffed up Juncos …

It was a cold morning … the display for my outdoor thermometer told me it was still only 11 degrees, but the early morning sunlight was sneaking around the blinds and the birds were chirping away at the feeders.  So I crawled out of bed and when and sat at the window to watch them for a bit.  All of the birds look a little bigger on a cold morning  with their feathers all fluffed up in an effort to provide optimal insulation.  The little Juncos look almost round … maybe it’s their coloring … but they look like little black and white balls with legs.
