Watching the seconds tick away …

When my dear son was much younger, we visited Disney World.  We were lucky enough to stay on site for a whole week.   We had visited the gift shop at our hotel the first day to get something we’d needed and we saw a Winnie the Pooh themed alarm clock.   At the time, Winnie the Pooh and Friends were dear son’s favorite cartoon characters.  I mentioned that maybe that would be a nice souvenir, but we decided to wait and see what else we might see during the week.  We got to the end of the week and never did go back and get the clock.  After we’d left and were heading back home, we started talking about the clock.   We both realized that we should have bought it.

Well, this was long enough ago that going online and ordering it wasn’t an option.  We did check the local Disney store when we got back, but they didn’t have it and didn’t know how they could get one, but they did have an 800 number I could call and ask someone else about it.  The person that I spoke reached at the 800 number took down the description of the item and where we had seen it.  They contacted the gift shop at the hotel, called me back and got my credit card info and had it shipped directly to us.

The alarm no longer works … it likely got bounced off the dresser to the floor one too many times.  But it still ticks down the seconds.  Look closely from 12 to just past one and you should see 5 semi-transparent images of the second hand.  To the right of the last one is a shadow of the second hand (it looks like it comes out of Tigger’s head and is a bit shorter.
