Oh, deer and dandelions …

I discovered a week or so ago that the leaves on one clump of tulips had been chewed on and that the first flower stalk to make an appearance had been eaten, as well.  I wondered if it was a deer, or perhaps a rabbit, since these tulips are only a few feet from my front door.   I’m fairly sure from seeing the damage done to another clump that it’s more likely deer … or a large rabbit that doesn’t bother with the other leaves on its way to the flower stems.   So far the daylilies that have come up haven’t been touched.   I also discovered the first dandelion of the year … time to start pulling weeds, I suppose.
