A full view of the clematis vines …

I decided to take a full length photo of the clematis vines.  I planted them in a triangle around a double shepherd’s hook that I’d received as a birthday gift that year.   I ran fishing line from tent stakes up to the shepherd’s hook to give them something to climb.   The blue clematis is actually the vine on the left.  It grows quickly up to the shepherd’s hook and then wanders and spreads itself over the entire top.   The white clematis vine is in the middle and has lighter colored leaves that the other two.   It puts up lots of vines from the ground and is quite full all the way up.  This year it managed to reach over and grab the red clematis vine which is planted on the right.    The red clematis vine grows more slowly and is thinner; it usually only just reaches the shepherd’s hook.
