Nearly turned my back on this one …

I managed to get up earlier than usual this morning … not quite as early as I’d hoped, but early enough to go as far as the river where there would be a nice horizon for the sunrise.  There were clouds to my west and south, but not much toward the east as I left the house.  But when I got to the wayside there were low clouds across the eastern horizon.   I almost turned around and left, but decided maybe I would give it a few minutes before leaving.  I ended up being glad I stayed and wished I’d stay a little longer as the clouds I’d see to the south and west were moving in overhead and were highlighted by streaks of gold and pink.

I decided to share one of the earlier and one of the later photos.  They are about 13 minutes apart.
