I’ve been wanting to try photographing star trails for some time. I kept reading about ways to go about it, but never had given it a try. Tonight the skies are very clear, so I gave it a try. This is a single, long exposure, not multiple exposures merged – that will have to be another day’s experiment. It’s not a wonderfully interesting image, but a step in learning a new technique. It was very dark outside when I started, but it seemed like all my neighbors had turned on their lights by the time the image was finished.
