Starting the Dogwood Photography Challenge for 2019 – Week 1

A couple of weeks ago, I happened upon an article about a 52-week photography challenge that was started by Dogwood Photography. I’m a little late getting started, but that is ok. Hopefully, I can catch up over the next few weeks. I have to admit that while I wanted something to encourage me to pick up my camera more frequently, doing so in the middle of packing up everything in my house and then remodeling it, makes the whole thing a bit more challenging.

The subject for Week 1 was:

Story Telling: Self-Portrait. Take a picture that tells us who you are, without actually showing your face.

Many of my things that I could have photographed to tell someone about who I am are already packed away in boxes. However, I am still going through all of my sewing and quilting supplies. I think the process of taking something usual and ordinary (like a stack of fabrics) and imagining how those things can be rearranged to take on a new form sums up a lot of my life.

Nikon D7100, 85 mm, 1/60 sec @ f/29, ISO 400, flash (bounced)
