The first thing that caught my eye as I was leaving the subdivision was the dark pink glow on the horizon indicating the sun was rising. That pink never lasts nearly long enough … if you’re not there when it starts, you’ve missed the opportunity to capture it. Nonetheless, I drove to a spot where I could see what followed that beautiful glow and snapped several photographs. There was a bit of color on the river as well … and I find myself unable to choose just one picture from the sunrise to be the initial “bookend” of my day.

The sunset this evening was equally beautiful; and the perfect “bookend” for the end of my day. Unfortunately, my tripod was sitting in my den … so the image doesn’t have the clarity I’d like … so no pixel peeking, please. But not bad for hand-held.
