Dear Son is home with his new camera. We decided to go out for supper and then try some low-light, night photography. Supper was very good … Thai … but it was a bit on the chilly side for night-time photography. We photographed the stars (Orion’s belt), lights on the river, a power plant … and he even got a cool shot of the shadow of his camera and tripod … with his camera on the tripod. (Maybe I should have let him guest-blog for me today.) Most of my photos seemed to have quite a bit of camera shake in them. The camera was on a tripod, but apparently my dancing around trying to keep warm wasn’t a good idea, particularly since the tripod was sitting in sand.
I ended up shooting a series looking into a blossom on the little potted primrose I picked up a few weeks ago. The series of images were taken with slight adjustments to the focal plane between each exposure. I attempted to stack the images, but kept having trouble with the alignment of the stigma. Apparently, there’s just too much motion going on here today. These images are from either end of the series.
