I noticed the moon a couple of afternoons ago and had attempted a get a few snapshots before sunset with my point-and-shoot, but really didn’t have much luck.   Today the skies were very clear, so I figured it would be a good test to check out my DSLR.  So far I have learned that the firmware update changed the menus and I couldn’t find the setting to enable use of my remote shutter release.  After deciding I was shaking the tripod when I pressed the shutter, I switched the settings and just held the camera.
