Between the extremely cold and long winter, the deer and most likely a few moles or voles nibbling the bulbs from underground, it seems I’m going to have 3 tulips blooms this year rather than the dozens I had last year.  But the naturalized violets that are scattered everywhere in my yard are doing quite well.
