Sometimes I see something in a photograph and either wonder how it would have turned out if I could or would have done something differently. Today I’m sharing two of those from my visit to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. The first one is a crepe myrtle … I’ve always appreciated the colors and patterns that appear as the trees age and the bark peels away. I would have liked to get the camera a little closer and looking up into its canopy. However, stepping off the path is highly discouraged due to the potential damage to the other plants around the trees. Perhaps on another visit I’ll find a crepe myrtle that is closer to the path and try again.
The second image was taken from one of the bridges in the island gardens area. I loved the colorful flowers and the curve of the pond. It would have been more interesting if the colors were closer to the water and reflected more strongly on the water’s surface. Another area to watch on future visits.
