As soon as the sun was over the horizon, I drove the few miles to the boat landing near the Mount Storm Power Plant. A year ago, I drove right past there and across the dam and didn’t even see the lake, the power plant or the windmills that are just behind me from where this photograph was taken. The weather that day was a drizzly sort of rain that created fog that was apparently dense enough to hide everything except the road in front of me … or maybe I was just focused. Eight weeks ago, I photographed fog lifting from the lake surface as a stiff wind blowing across the warm waters. So after passing through areas of fog on my way from Strasburg, I was quite surprised to find so little fog over the lake.
