The last couple of years my feeders have been full of goldfinches.  This year I’ve only seen a few.  They are quite drab this time of year, but watching them change color in the spring to become a bright sunshine yellow is something I’ve enjoyed.  This year I’ve been seeing a few more purple finches than in years past.  I usually have to look really closely to see the color, but the ones I’ve seen recently are quite easy to spot.
