Alien landscape?

The forecasters got this one fairly right … it began as a bit of rain at the end of the day yesterday and quickly changed over to snow.  By this morning, there was 4-5″ of the fluffy white stuff covering everything outside.  I worked from home, but took a break at lunch to go out and clear off the steps and capture a few photos.  The temperature had risen to about 34 degrees and it was still spitting a bit of snow, but most of the snow in the cul-de-sac had turned to slush.   I was a bit curious about what kept the spots of snow from melting.  But the result reminded me of the surface of the moon … but the reverse … bumps instead of craters.  I also took a photo of the “daffodils” from yesterday … completely buried by the snow.
