Cold feet …

One more cold and snowy day … hoping it’s the last one until next winter, but I’m not going to bet on it.  There was so much activity at the feeders, that I took a break at lunch time and went out and sat on the porch.  It was interesting to see the different birds interacting.  The blackbirds came in force … mostly Redwings and Grackles, but the Juncos, finches and even the Cardinals weren’t scared off by them.  And I had 3 pair of cardinals today.   It was a target rich environment for photographing birds.  When I sat down a little bit ago to look through them, I laughed out loud at the two photographs I’ve posted below.  I found myself imagining what the conversation around the feeder might have been.

“What sort of establishment is this?  They’ve not cleared the ice from the perch.  That poor fellow has slipped right off!”

“So were did you fly in from?”
